I really like toys. Toys are the best. Toys are almost as good as treats, but not exactly.
This is Blueduck. And this is Yellowduck. They aren’t like ducks in my pool, but they are both very good ducks. Blueduck has a big hole in his stomach that is full of tasty filling, while Yellowduck just squeaks. I don’t think he learned the right duck sounds. His teacher must have been a quack.
All of my toys have their own special parts. The tug-tug toys are really fun for playing with another dog or even a human-person.
This tug-tug toy gets smaller and smaller the more I play with it. It’s a little harder to tug-tug now, but I still like it because the filling tastes good and is fun to spread around.
Some toys make a squeaky sound when I chew on them, and others make a crunchy sound. I don’t think Sandy wants me to chew on all of them, like this crunchy toy here, but I can play with just about anything. Of all the toys in the whole world only one is the very best because it is everything a good toy should be: crunchy, squeaky, fun alone, fun with friends, and sometimes even full of tasty filling: a ball!
A ball can be rolled down the stairs to Sandy so that she can pick it up, throw it back up, and I can roll it back down. She picks it up and throws it again. We like to do this until we stop.
I always try this with other great toys, but I have to wait too long. I sit there patiently but it doesn’t go down the stairs. This is another reason why a ball is the best.
I have a very big ball collection, and each ball has its own special use. There’s the house ball, the stair ball, the pool ball, the soccer balls and the basketball. Some are smooth, some are bumpy, and there is even a ball within a ball.
Soccer balls taste the best, especially the blue patches. Share a ball with your friends when you want them to play with you. Or sit at home and chew on the ball as much as you like. The Smile TV team likes to throw the ball down the hall for me to catch and bring back to them. I bring it back, but then they throw it again and again. Sometimes, they throw two balls at once, and I just can’t fit both of them in my mouth, though I really try.
At the end of the day, a ball can even be a great pillow. I really don’t think I could survive without a ball around. Or treats. Or my bed. Or shoes.
When you really want to chew something and you don’t have a chewie around, just chew on a ball! They taste really good, and they tear apart really easily, and when you’re done, the human-people are so quick to bring a new one! I think that if everyone in the world had a ball, then they would all be happy like me, a very good therapy dog for humans.
