I can prioritize, organize, and customize my day to meet most challenges; however, with all my wonder skills, I have forgotten one of my most loved. My social skills! In todays “hurried” day and age, it is so easy to not make time for some of the people or hobbies that you love so much. So here is what I did….I took some time…. called one of my friends and had a lovely conversation. We even had lunch together at a local healthy restaurant. Now I have to admit, while the thought of talking to a friend sounded nice, it also meant being distracted and taking precious time away from getting my work done. I confess that after actually taking the time to enjoy a friend’s company and conversation I became more centered, happier and more focused with my work.
Am I alone? Are you like me? I know there has to be someone out there…..I won’t call you out. Here is what I’ll do. I encourage you to search for what makes you smile. You might even want to make a list. You could ask a friend to help. Do you like to garden? Do you like to paint? What about baking? These are things that you might want to think about and when you decide what it is, don’t just keep it to yourself. Share it with us on Facebook. You will probably see a few people who have the same passion!
Anyways, thanks for reading. I better get off now, gotta call an old friend.
With a Smile,
